DIY Splattered Wood Coasters | Common Sparrows
This is an old post archived from Exodus Treasures.

I’m going to start doing tiny things to reach my kitchen goals and I decided I needed coasters.

These coasters are an easy knockoff of these beautiful rain coasters (I orginally saw them at West Elm, but now they’re available on Curio). All you need for these copper accented, paint splattered, wooden coasters are some wood circles, tape, and paint.

Materials

  • Wood Circles
  • Masking Tape or Painters Tape

  • White, Black, and Metallic Paint

  • Paintbrushes

Step One

Paint the rims of your wood circles with your metallic paint and let them dry. Be super careful to not get it on the top part because some of it will be exposed.

Step Two

Cover some of the wood coaster with masking tape.

Step Three

Paint the top of the wood white.

Step Four

With a paint brush, brush the black paint off of your finger so that the paint splatters onto your circles. Let dry then remove tape.
